Beef Chilli Recipe

Some of us wake up craving sweets and sugar but others seem to be my likes in cravings that revolve around salty and meaty stuff. Today’s craving is meaty beef chilli with perhaps some crispy nachos or toasted pitta bread pieces to dip it into.


Beef Chilli Ingredients

  • ½ Kilo of coarse ground beef
  • 1 large onion (chopped fine)
  • 1 green bell pepper (Chopped fine)
  • 2 Tbsp. ground red chili
  • 2 cloves of garlic (Mashed)
  • 3 tomatoes (Chopped Fine)
  • 3 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • ½ Tsp. Cumin
  • ½ Tsp. ground thyme
  • ½ Tsp. Marjoram
  • 1 Can of red kidney beans (drained)
  • 1 carrot (Chopped fine)
  • Dash of olive oil/coconut oil


The method

We sauté the onions (for those cooking illiterate it just means tossing the veggies in a dash of oil) along with the meat till the meat seems almost done, we then add the rest of the ingredients and stir gently for it to simmer and cook. We add a ¼ cup of water and let it simmer till the carrots seem to have cooked all the way through and filling your kitchen with an irresistible aroma. Garnish the beef chilli with some avocados or cilantro. You can also add a dollop of creamy cheese.
